Skin which is poorly nourished is unable to defend itself against the ravages of sun, wind, and environmental pollution, or the drying effects of air conditioning in cars and buildings.

As a major organ, why would you want to put anything on your skin that you could not safely put into your mouth and eat?

Our skin has two layers - an outer layer and a lower layer.

The lower layer is called the dermis. It contains dermal cells from which all skin cells originate. It is made up of a network of blood vessels, glands and nerve endings.

Most of the dermis consists of collagen (70%), which gives the skin it's strength and structure. Woven within it are elastin fibres which provides the skin with elasticity.

The outer layer of the skin is called the epidermis. It is made up of dermal cells, which lose moisture as they move upwards to the surface of the skin. As they lose moisture they become flatter and harder, as a concentration of a protein called keratin occurs.

As cells reach the surface of the skin, they die and flake off. The skin's surface is an overlapping mesh of dead skin cells which are continuously being replaced. Dead skin cells are a major contributor to household dust!

Nutrition is involved at every stage of skin development and is the primary benefactor to younger looking skin.

Research has now confirmed that if Vitamin C is not included in your diet daily, the collagen content throughout your body can decrease. No Vitamin C, no collagen.

The flexibility of collagen and elastin fibres does reduce over time due to damage caused by free radicals.

This damage can be limited with the intake of antioxidants, such as Vitamins  A, C, and E and Super Oxidase Dismutase, all of which are abundant in your favourite Cereal Grass, providing it has been processed at body temperature.

Vitamin A also plays an important role in controlling the rate of keratin accumulation on the surface of the skin, helping to prevent dry, rough skin and premature ageing.

A lack of essential fatty acids in the diet can cause the membranes of skin cells to dry out, which can produce the feeling of 'dry' taunt skin, even after excessive applications of moisturizers.

The lack of other nutrients, produces tell tale signs through the skin. For example, a lack of zinc is noticeable through your skin and nails. Stretch marks on the skin, slow healing of cuts, and horizontal lines on the nails indicate insufficient zinc in your diet.

An Australian product formulated to suit the harsh Australian climate, U.V. Filter Cream has a protection factor of 15 which gives maximum protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays.

• An effective filter cream without the usual greasiness associated with most UV creams.
• May be worn under make-up without the risk of make-up ‘float off’.
• The use of antioxidants – Vitamins E, A, and Ascorbyl Palmitate (a highly usable form of Vitamin C) for healing – distinguish this cream from others presently on the market.

• Macadamia oil is a unique vegetable oil with a molecular structure that more closely resembles marine mammal oil rather than other vegetable oils.

MYSOL ARTHRITIS CREAM

Copper is an important co-factor in the strengthening of elastic tissues, a deficiency of which may result in slipped discs, poor healing of back injuries and rheumatoid type symptoms.

It plays a versatile role in promoting enzymes such as Lysyloxidase to strengthen tissue, Super Oxidase Dismutase, which mops up toxins leading to reduction of inflammation and damage due to trauma in the joints.
